Fire & Rescue Service Manikin
Rugged, realistic in size, weight distribution, and handling characteristics. Upgraded to a polyester fabric shell material. Manufactured using a flexible inner core, an outer shell, and a coverall.
The inner core is weighted to human proportions using 4.4 lb aggregate packets. Heavier models 154 lb, 176 lb, and 198 lb may have steel shot added to create the correct weight and weight distribution. Do not use the heavier manikins for MRI training. For structural integrity, the packets are sewn to a nylon inner dummy with all the body parts (arms, legs, chest, etc.) held in place with polypropylene webbing.
The outer layer is the same flame retardant Polyester used in Police ballistic/stab vests, which typically has four times the strength and abrasion resistance of 16oz canvas or P.V.C. All seams are double-stitched and are reinforced with high-density polypropylene webbing. Includes storage loop to hang manikin up to dry (NOT A DRAG HANDLE FOR TRAINING USE). The included washable coveralls protect the manikin from dirt and are reinforced with high-density polypropylene webbing in high-stress areas.
All manikins 44 lbs and up are supplied with lug sole boots secured to the manikin. The newly shaped head, recently introduced, allows the fitting of most immobilization collars. The red head cover can be removed and washed if it becomes dirty. This new model replaces both the Original General Purpose and Haz-Mat Manikins. Extra protective clothing is recommended for firefighter drag and carry. The Fire & Rescue Manikin works very well for Pole Top Rescue Training.
TechNOTE – Ruth Lee Training Manikin Coveralls
Ruth Lee is the only manikin manufacturer that provides clothing with their products. All Ruth Lee Rescue Training Manikins include coveralls. Manikins 44 lbs and up also include lug sole boots.
Upgraded to Include Lifting Bridle
A unique patient packaging and extrication system combines the backboard immobilization of a “Short Board” and the suspension and support of a full body harness. The SPEC-PAK system utilizes an integrated polyethylene board along the back of the harness system to reduce wear and allow for a smooth sliding surface for confined space operations. Grab handles located at the sides and head of the SPEC-PAK aid rescuers during the movement of patients through confined spaces. SPEC-PAK system is beneficial for any confined space operations with a vertical environment. SPEC-PAK is a fully certified lifting harness (ANSI Z359.1-1992), thus eliminating the need for a separate victim harness.
Unique self-adjusting cervical restraint eliminates the problems associated with lifting patients vertically while secured to a rigid backboard. SPEC PAK is only intended as a limited spinal immobilization system. SPEC PAK must be used with proper spinal immobilization, such as using a cervical collar where conditions and protocols dictate. Weight: 15 lbs.
LIFTING BRIDLE SYSTEM is now included with SPEC PAK (Spec Pak will not function in all lifting modes without Lifting Bridles).
Extends Rescuer’s Reach
Superclip Rescue is designed for remotely holding auto-lock carabiners in the open position. Great for confined space rescue situations. Holds most Autolocking 3 Stage Carabiners.

Designed to be kept with your turnout gear, this harness may be worn outside or between the barrier and shell layers. Special Clik Lok buckle, and attachment strap allow this harness to be easily donned. The waist buckle requires both triggers to be depressed before disengagement. The extended “D” ring rigging point extends above the pant’s waistline and eases attachment. Sizing should be determined by waist measurement while wearing turnout pants. The melting point of Kevlar is above 500°C (930°F). Meets NFPA 2500/1983 strength requirements. Made in U.S.A.
